C-5 Galaxy

C-5 GalaxyThe C-5 Galaxy is one of the largest aircraft in the world and the largest airlifter in the Air Force inventory. It can carry 36 standard pallets and 81 troops simultaneously. The C-5 carries all of the Army's air transportable combat equipment. It can carry outsize and oversize cargo intercontinental ranges and can take off or land in relatively short distances. Ground crews are able to load and unload the C-5 simultaneously because of the full width drive on ramps and cargo openings at the front and rear of the aircraft. The wingspan of the C-5 is 222.9 feet. The height is 65.1 feet. The C-5's range is 6,310 nautical miles without air refueling.
